Summer Meal Safety Conference

Target Hunger
2814 Quitman
Houston, TX 77026

Are you in need of assistance with increased food costs over the summer to feed your children?  Would you like to provide your children with the opportunity to safely prepare nutritious meals and snacks while they are out of school?

Let Target Hunger help you this summer!

Made possible through a grant from the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation, Target Hunger is hosting a conference on Saturday, June 6th for families and children (ages 7 to 17) to learn about safe food preparation.  Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Harris County 4-H members and Target Hunger's Educational and Community Gardens are joining together to offer this to the community.

In addition, Target Hunger is hosting an Educational Food Fair alongside the Meal Conference.  The community at large is welcome at the Food Fair, regardless of income or where they reside.  Participants attend a 20 minute  Dissaster Preparedness educational workshop, and receive a distribution of about 20-30 pounds of fresh, seasonal produce.

The Houston Young Lawyers Association will be on hand conducting a legal advice clinic for Target Hunger clients and members of the community who have a household income no greater than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.  They accept cases on family law, landlord/tenant/home ownership, IRS disputes, wills and probate and consumer law.  No criminal, traffic or fee-generating cases will be accepted.

Please join us this Saturday, June 6th for a morning filled with education, food distribution, and legal advice.
