Target Hunger Giving Tuesday

givingtuesday

Target Hunger is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving. #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

As you may know, Target Hunger is one of Houston’s largest organizations providing direct food distribution to food insecure seniors, children and families who face the risk of going hungry every day. We distribute 3.9 million pounds of food each year – the equivalent of 3.2 million meals - to more than 11,000 individuals each month. Through our system of seven food pantries, a central food hub, six community and educational gardens, 15 senior home delivery routes, 10 senior day site routes, a free breakfast program, and countless community food fairs, we are on the front lines of hunger every day.

Target Hunger is able to carry out its mission as a result of the generosity of people just like you, and #GivingTuesday is Target Hunger’s primary end of year appeal for support. We hope we can count on you to help us continue impacting our community with direct food distribution to food insecure seniors, children and families who face the risk of going hungry every day.
