Houston's historic Fifth Ward and surrounding northeast Houston neighborhoods were some of the hardest hit by the recent flooding impacting our city. Harvey dealt a tremendous blow to countless seniors and families who were already struggling to make ends meet. Target Hunger has been serving the people of these great communities for nearly thirty years, and we're still here, ready to do what we can to help our neighbors in need recover after the storm
Join us for the “Will Walk 4 Food” event on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Denver Harbor Multi Service Center. By walking, you demonstrate your commitment to ending the cycle of hunger in Houston’s inner city. Regardless of your age or experience level, you can make a difference in the lives of those around you and strengthen our community. You’re not just raising funds, but also raising awareness for the problems of hunger and food insecurity in our city. All you need is the motivation to make a difference!
Every year, Target Hunger distributes Holiday Food Boxes to approximately 3,000 families who might otherwise not have a traditional Thanksgiving. This year, the corporation who historically funds this program is no longer able to.
We're reaching out to individuals and companies with this urgent request for donations in support of this important program.
